Morris County Hospital Board Announces Hire of new CEO
Tom Jernigan, DVM, Board President announced Monday, March 5th the hiring of a new CEO for Morris County Hospital. Kevin Leeper, most recently at a hospital in Nevada, Missouri will arrive and begin work in Council Grove, KS at Morris County Hospital on March 12th. There will be a reception to welcome Mr. Leeper and his spouse to Council Grove in conjunction with the Ground breaking ceremony for the new ER Addition to the hospital to be scheduled soon.
Leeper is a highly accomplished Executive Healthcare Manager with nearly forty years of leadership experience in driving revenue, building successful management teams, and refocusing under-performing departments towards growth and profit curves. A committed, service minded leader, Mr. Leeper has spent his last twenty-two years in rural communities where the resident customers and civic leaders are the true bosses to whom he reports. He fully understands that financial returns only come with the delivery of satisfying outcomes to the patients his facilities serve. He acknowledges that great healthcare is a true team effort, led by physicians, and executed by many.
Mr.Leeper and Marla have five children and ten grandchildren, all in Texas, where they spent their college and subsequent years until their arrival to Nevada, MO in the summer of 2014, and now onto Council Grove, KS in the spring of 2018. They are a couple who love to travel, cook for large groups, swim, enjoy all kinds of music and the great outdoors, dabble in woodworking projects, and tinker with whatever grows in dirt. They are committed to and stay active with their church.
Both Mr. Leeper and Marla have roots in Missouri and are happy to make this return closer to extended family still residing in this vicinity. They expect to enjoy being close to a lake house environment similar to one at the Lake of the Ozarks, where they have a family co-owned vacation home. Leeper fully plans and hopes to elevate health related services to the people of Morris County and its contiguous neighbors.
