Another busy two week period ushered in our first norther for the coming season. But a nice day has returned as I begin to write this (Friday). We remain busy due to the many displaced patients from Herington, to whom we are grateful for their trust in seeking our care. We did find out last week that Herington will soon be getting a Clinic, two in fact, courtesy of Abilene’s Memorial Health System who will open an RHC in the first quarter of 2024 and of Dr. John Mosier, who is upgrading his father’s Dentist Office into a four suite Urgent Care site. This is far short of an actual hospital, but far more than is currently available in terms of local healthcare. MCH and the Abilene hospital are pooling their resources to figure out an effective method of releasing medical records out of the closed facility. Emprise Bank, who has basically locked down the hospital, is very interested in supporting the function of record management and removal. We should know more by the end of week (the 10^th).

At the Board meeting last week, it was agreed to end our attempt at building a large enough patient panel in Alta Vista to support keeping a Clinic there. We are planning to close that site at the end of the year, and hopefully continue seeing those patients at the White City location with Haley Morgan, or in Council Grove with our large selection of providers.

It was also approved at the meeting for us to host an employee wide Christmas party this year, on December 8^th at the Territory Ballroom. Much more to come from the Team Building committee and Stacy Zeigler – but do try to keep that evening open!!
